Itinerary

(subject to change)

Our Bonté Walking Club retreat is set in a beautiful home in Coolum QLD, close to the starting line of the 30km Coastrek event we’ll be completing together.

After Thursday afternoon check-in at the house (16th July), we’ll gather on the deck by the pool for a grounding group yoga practice, followed by a nourishing shared dinner and relaxed bonding time with your fellow walkers. Then it’s off to your own comfy room for a well-earned rest before event day.

Friday morning (17th July) begins with sunrise, gentle stretching and a warm-up, plus a hearty breakfast to fuel us for the 7am start of our 30km coastal hike. After crossing the Coastrek finish line together, the afternoon is yours to rest and rejuvenate before we head out for a special celebratory dinner party to honour what we’ve just achieved as a team.

On Saturday (18th July), we’ll ease into recovery movement, share one final breakfast, and soak up those last moments together before check-out, saying goodbye (for now) to new friendships and a powerful shared experience.

There are only 5 rooms in the retreat house for an intimate and personalised experience. If you wish to share a room with a partner or friend, please contact us via email at [email protected] for availability and twin-share pricing.

Who are your coaches?

Meet Stef Wild  & Melissa Byass!
Both are experienced movement and mindfulness coaches with a shared passion for the outdoors, walking, and helping people build sustainable, feel-good fitness practices.

Together, they bring years of professional experience across Pilates, yoga, strength training, and mindfulnesss practices, and are co-creators and facilitators of the “Strength & Serenity Retreat" in Bali, where time in nature, and intentional movement are central to the experience.

Bonté Walking Club was created from a mutual understanding that walking is one of the most powerful, yet often underestimated, tools for building physical resilience, mental clarity, and long-term consistency.

Both Stef and Mel spend a significant amount of time outdoors themselves and know firsthand the benefits of regular walking, especially when paired with guidance, community, and supportive movement practices.

Bonté Walking Club is their way of bringing that experience, structure, and care into a grounded, accessible program, designed to help you move with purpose, confidence, and connection.

Frequently asked questions

When will the live Zoom classes be held?

Our live Walking Club sessions will be held on Zoom on alternating Wednesdays at 8pm AEST, and every Friday at 6am AEST.

These sessions will include guided mobility, yoga (both yin and yang) and mat Pilates. These sessions are also great for community connection to keep you accountable and progressing toward your goal.

Will I get access to the recordings if I can’t attend live?

Yes. Every live session will be recorded and sent to you, so you can catch up in your own time. We know life is full — you won’t miss out if you can’t make it live.

Can I participate in Walking Club without registering for an official hiking event?

Absolutely. While having an event like Coastrek can be a powerful motivator, Walking Club is designed to get you moving, building strength, and feeling connected to community — regardless of whether you’re joining Team Bonté at Coastrek Sunshine Coast.

If you’d like an event to work toward, Coastrek runs events in most Australian states and across different distances, which you’re welcome to register for independently. We’re here to guide and support you — whatever your goal may be.

Can I walk with Team Bonté on the Sunshine Coast but skip the retreat?

Yes, absolutely. Team Bonté is open to everyone. If you’d prefer to arrange your own accommodation on the Sunshine Coast and still walk with us for the 30km event, we would love to have you on the team.

What is “Bonté”?

Bonté is derived from French and means kindness, goodness, and care.

This walking club, and all Bonté retreats and experiences are built on these values:

  • Care for your body
  • Kindness toward yourself
  • Connection with others
  • Respect for nature
  • Consistency over perfection

You don’t need to be “fit enough.”
You don’t need hiking experience.
You just need the willingness to take the next step.

Good things are up ahead!
